Coronavirus Frequently Asked Question
International: If my classes are delivered online, will that affect my F-1 visa status?
Updated July 10, 2020
The situation is evolving. The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement recently announced significant changes to its Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP). Nonimmigrant (F-1) students taking classes in the fall 2020 quarter must now enroll in a hybrid model of instruction with at least one in-person course to remain in the U.S. through the end of the year.
UCSC Silicon Valley Extension and the University of California system are committed to exploring all options to help our international community continue to develop their professional careers with us.
