Horrible Bosses: How to Avoid Hiring, Creating, and Nurturing Them

November 12, 2024 | All Day

We’ve all heard the statistic that 75% of employees have left a job because of their manager. Horrible bosses abound, but where did they come from?

In this session organized by the Silicon Valley Chapter of the National Human Resource Association, we’ll explore:

  • how this phenomenon happens,
  • ways to avoid repeating the mistakes that create a thriving environment for horrible bosses, and
  • strategies to help you nurture good bosses.

This presentation will take you on the journey, reveal the tools and processes used to evaluate and address challenges, and chart a new course (complete with ongoing course corrections). You will leave this session with practical techniques you can use in your organization tomorrow.

This event is co-sponsored by the Human Resource Management certificate program at UCSC Silicon Valley Extension.
