How do I access my course?

Log in to Canvas to access your course.

All your active courses will appear on your Canvas Dashboard, which is the first page you see when you log in.

What is Canvas?

Canvas is our online classroom, where you will find resources and course content organized into modules.

What can I do in Canvas?

You will find many useful features in Canvas and tools integrated into Canvas. A few are listed below.

  • Join Zoom meetings from Canvas

    If your course meets on Zoom, join your Zoom meetings from the Zoom tab of your course in Canvas.

  • Contact your instructor in Canvas

    Use the Canvas Inbox found in the left navigation in Canvas to contact your instructor.

  • Submit assignments and quizzes in Canvas

    Access assignments and quizzes via the Modules tab in your course in Canvas to submit your work. Contact your instructor for course-specific details.

I need help logging in to Canvas.

Make sure you are accessing the correct login page for Canvas.

After you created your Student Portal and enrolled in your first course, a Canvas account was auto-generated for you. The username for your Canvas account is the same as the username that you selected for your Student Portal.

Refer to the steps below for specific login concerns.

  • I am logging in to Canvas for the first time.

    To log in to Canvas for the first time, you need to follow the Forgot Password? steps below to set a password for Canvas.

  • I forgot my password

    1. Go to Canvas.
    2. Click Forgot Password?
    3. Enter your Username from your Student Portal.
    4. Click on Request Password.
    5. Check your email address and follow the steps to set your password for Canvas.

    Once you have set your password, you can use it to log in to Canvas.

  • I forgot my username.

    Your username for Canvas is the same as your Student Portal. Recover the username for your Student Portal from Username Recovery.

When can I access my course in Canvas?

You will get access to your course in Canvas 24 hours before the start date and time of your course. If you enroll in a course that has already started, you need to wait up to an hour for the course to appear on your Canvas Dashboard. You will continue to have access to your course in Canvas for 31 days after the course end date.

Why can’t I see the rest of my course?

Submit the Policies Acknowledgement Quiz to gain access to the rest of your course content.
