Who qualifies?

  • New self-paying students who have never previously enrolled in a UCSC Extension course. Students receiving funding from third party providers or enrolling into a partner provider courses and workshops do not qualify. 

How do I claim this discount?

  • New students may enter promo code: FIRSTTIME10% during checkout. The discount can also be applied while enrolling over the phone with an outreach specialist or student services representative. 
     

Can I combine this with other discounts?

  • No, the first-time student discount cannot be combined with referral, alumni, or any other discounts.
     

If I enroll in more than one course, how is the discount applied?

  • We will apply the 10 percent discount to the highest price course in your cart.
     

Anything else I should know?

  • This discount:
    • Applies once per student.
    • Is not transferable.
    • Is valid for courses starting between Oct 6, 2025 and the last day of winter quarter 2026.
    • Is no valid for workshops, courses in the Postbacc, Coastal Sustainability, or partner program courses taught by the Center for Legal Studies and Ziplines.
