GUIDO BORDIGNON, Ph.D., M.S., is Vice Provost of the Division of Global Engagement at UC Santa Cruz, advancing the campus Strategic Plan for Internationalization by strengthening partnerships, expanding global learning opportunities, and supporting international research collaborations. Bordignon joined the UC Santa Cruz faculty in 2020 as associate teaching professor of Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology, focusing on biology education research and evidence-based pedagogy, particularly experiential learning and course-based undergraduate research. As faculty director for International Exchange, he has developed a veterinary medicine pathway with the University of Bristol and established 2+2 pathway agreements with universities in Indonesia and Mexico. Previously, Bordignon was a professor of molecular biotechnology at the University of Ca' Foscari of Venice, Italy, and a visiting scholar at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography and Oregon Health & Science University, completing three Antarctic research expeditions with NOAA. A recipient of UC Santa Cruz's Ron Rubin Excellence in Teaching Award, he also serves as the campus faculty athletics representative. Bordignon earned a B.S., M.S., and PharmD from the University of Padua and a Ph.D. from Ca' Foscari University of Venice.
