LAUREN MANN, MA, is a dedicated educator with nearly a decade of classroom experience. She specializes in human development, literacy intervention, and the integration of technology in early learning environments. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Cross-Disciplinary Studies: Teacher Education, focusing on Human Development from Point Loma Nazarene University and went on to earn a master’s degree in Education with an emphasis in Instructional Design and Technology, as well as a Reading and Literacy Authorization from PLNU. It is an academic foundation that informs her holistic approach to teacher preparation and ensures that her students understand the cognitive and social-emotional milestones of early childhood.
In her current role as a transitional kindergarten teacher, she applies research-based strategies to support the youngest learners in their transition to formal schooling. Her diverse professional background includes six years teaching 5th grade, as well as experience in 4th grade and targeted reading intervention. By bringing her current classroom insights to UCSC Extension, Mann helps aspiring associate teachers develop the practical skills and technological fluency needed to thrive in today’s diverse educational settings.
