DIANA BLACK KENNEDY, MA, is a board certified educational therapist with a thriving private practice in Marin County, Calif. as well as chair of the Educational Therapy certificate program at UCSC Silicon Valley Extension. Her extensive classroom experience spans second grade through high school, rural, urban, and suburban settings, and public and private schools.
Since 2009, she has worked one on one as an educational therapist with a wide range of diverse, unique, wonderful students, including students with learning disabilities and neurodivergences, as well as people who are gifted, talented, and twice exceptional. A former student of the UCSC Silicon Valley Educational Therapy program, she has taught Structured Literacy I and II since 2019. She began serving as chair of the Educational Therapy certificate program in 2026.
Black Kennedy holds a certificate in Educational Therapy from UCSC Silicon Valley Extension, a graduate certificate in Autism from University of Kansas, a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from UC Berkeley, and a Master's Degree in English Literature from Indiana University, Bloomington. She presents and provides professional development internationally and writes a blog about education at www.MindSparkLearning.com. She teaches Structured Literacy I and Structured Literacy II.
