This Program is Perfect For

  • Engineers and designers looking to build hands-on skills in 3D printing and design for additive manufacturing (DfAM)
  • Early-career professionals ready to gain hanEarly-career professionals looking to build internship and job-ready skills AM employers expect
  • Anyone curious about entering the rapidly evolving field of industrial additive manufacturing

Shape the future of engineering, one layer at a time

Designed for engineers and designers entering the field

Additive manufacturing, also known as 3D printing, is transforming how engineers design, prototype, and produce parts across industries. In this hands-on program, students learn the fundamental processes, materials, and software skills needed to leverage the design freedom and transformative potential of additive manufacturing technology, preparing them for internships and early career positions in this rapidly evolving field.

By the end, you'll be equipped to design smarter, print with confidence, and stand out in a competitive, rapidly growing field.

Courses are offered through UC Merced PACE, as part of a partnership with UCSC Silicon Valley Extension. Students enroll via UCSC Silicon Valley Extension, but instruction, course materials, and grading are provided by UC Merced PACE.

After enrolling, students will receive a UC Merced student account along with instructions for logging in and accessing course materials on UC Merced's Canvas site. Academic credit will be given by UC Merced PACE, not UCSC Silicon Valley Extension, please direct any transcript requests to the UC Merced PACE transcript request form.
