Jan. 6, 2023 — We are adapting to ever-changing guidance and laws as new COVID-19 variants continue to travel through the community.

Masks, while not mandatory at the Silicon Valley campus, are strongly recommended by campus leadership and local public health officials regardless of an individual’s vaccination status.

Please do not come onto campus or enter any University facilities or physical spaces if you feel unwell or have recently tested positive for COVID-19.

You can find more information in our COVID FAQ pages.

Attending events at UCSC

  • Proof of being up to date with COVID-19 vaccinations or a recent negative COVID-19 test result (taken within 72 hours of the start of an event) are not required for indoor events. Event organizers may choose to require these measures as long as they apply to all attendees.
  • The host or event coordinator will provide attendees reasonable notice of the requirements of the event in advance.

For more information on attending events, visit our FAQ page: What are the COVID-related requirements for events?
