Managing Projects at Startup Companies
Customize project management for startups—a 2-day course
Standard practices and techniques in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) Guide work at established companies but are not always applicable to young companies or fast-track projects. Change occurs faster than ever in startups. How do you keep up with the turbulent environment of young companies? In this course, you will learn how to adapt generally accepted project management techniques in the startup culture where project timelines are compressed. We'll be discussing:
Adapting planning, scheduling, tracking, and control techniques to accelerated projects
Leadership, politics, and the strategic aspects of project management
Key project-management processes; managing virtual and cross-functional teams
Web-based project management
This course is perfect for executives and managers at startups who want to customize project management practices. This is not a theoretical course. You'll have in-class exercises and homework assignments that you can take back to work and immediately apply to your own projects.
