HR SYMPOSIUM HONORS HRM PROGRAM INSTRUCTORS
Congratulations to Extension´s 2008 HR Symposium honorees!
Jeanne Palmer, our Compensation Management instructor and former HRM certificate coordinator, received the 2008 Human Resource Excellence Award.
Robert Coon, our HR Effectiveness Measurement instructor received the 2008 Human Resource Leadership Award.
James Desrosier, Director of Business & Management Education, said, "It is great recognition for Jeanne´s and Robert´s contributions to the profession and a testament to the quality of the instructors in our HRM program."
Nancy Nelson, SPHR, current HRM program coordinator and instructors Pat Mahoney and Lynne Hughes were also in attendance.

UCSC Extension garners praise from training magazine.
A recent article in an online magazine praised UCSC Extension´s corporate training, Sandra Clark was quoted in the article saying her program is attractive to many companies because it mainly uses professionals who work full-time in the fields for which they offer training. "Extensions in general-and that includes my campus-rarely use campus faculty for a variety of reasons," Clark notes. "Our clients want people who are working in the field in which they teach. They don't want theory. They want someone who can say, ´When the project I was working on went wrong, this is how we fixed it.´"
