Course Description:
In a hands-on format, participants practice with a variety of rapid informal assessments of learning style strengths and weaknesses, followed by activities to match techniques and strategies to promote students' success in therapy and classroom situations. Classroom activities focus on identifying and working with non-compensatory skills (e.g., laterality, spatial orientation); the causes and corrections for incompatibility between a student's learning style and the teaching techniques commonly used; and ways of stimulating all areas of the brain to head off boredom. This course is recommended especially for educational therapists, special educators and general teachers who have completed the CCTC requirement in mainstreaming special populations for the clear professional credential.
