| Is online learning right for You? |
Online learning is convenient- you do not have to commute, and you can attend class at your convenience. However, it does require discipline and self-motivation.
Your instructor will demand at least the same quality of work as they would receive from you in a face-to-face classroom and it will take a similar number of hours to complete the course.
Remember that your course may include deadlines and instructions on assignments, but there will not be anyone telling you to “turn in your assignment.”
No matter when you decide to study, your instructor will hold you accountable for your assignments, projects and tests in order for you to complete your course and receive a grade.

Taking online classes at UCSC Extension has been wonderful. Not only did I reach my goal in a timely manner, but I could set my own study schedule; no worries about being late for class or the commute. Best of all, working on projects independently has been great hands-on training. Last but not least, the instructors at UCSC Extension were fantastic and helped make this a rewarding experience.
