UCSC Extension, an established institution of lifelong learning, is the largest provider of professional education in Silicon Valley and on the Central Coast.
UCSC Extension offers a wide variety of professional certificate programs for international students at classroom facilities located in Cupertino, Sunnyvale, and Santa Cruz. Most certificate programs will take from 9 -12 months to complete. Students must maintain full-time status each term by taking a minimum of 12 credit hours. After 9 months of full-time enrollment and successful completion of a certificate program, International Students are eligible for one year of Post Completion Optional Practical training.
UCSC Extension is authorized under federal law to enroll nonimmigrant students. The application must be submitted by the following dates:

Requirements: International students enrolling in certificate programs must have a bachelor's degree or higher and a TOEFL score of at least 550 (paper-based), 80 (IBT), IELTS 6.5 or TOEIC 760, taken in the last two years.
Required fees
Application fee: $125 (non-refundable)
Health insurance: (non-refundable): Winter 08 - $325; Spring 08 - $325; Summer 08 - $275; Fall 08 $425
Course fees (12 units): course fees vary depending on course selection
Student fees $1,500 International student fee is payable at the time of application (includes orientation fee). This fee is refundable up to seven calendar days before the session begins. (A $200 administrative fee may apply.)
