Retraining Assistance through the Workforce Investment Act.
Displaced or disadvantaged workers may be eligible for federal assistance through the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) or the Employment Development Department (EDD). For students who qualify, funds may be applied toward the cost of the Extension course fees. For additional information or to determine eligibility, contact either your local Workforce Investment Board or Extension's coordinator at wib@ucsc-extension.edu. Funding eligibility must be determined prior to enrolling or participating in any course.
