Several UCSC Extension courses are recognized by the UCSC Economics Department and may be used to waive the designated UCSC economics courses.

Human Resources Management

The Business and Management Department has secured a transfer agreement with Capella University. This option specifically assists those students who have received a Human Resource Management Certificate and would like to pursue an Online Master of Science degree in Organization and Management Program, Human Resource Management Specialization.

Before entering the Capella University Master of Science in Organization and Management Program, Human Resource Management Specialization, the student must complete the UCSC Extension Human Resource Management Certificate with an overall 3.0 grade-point average. Completion of the UCSC Extension Human Resource Management Certificate equates to 8 graduate credits when granted admission into the Capella University Master of Science in Organization and Management program, Human Resource Management specialization in the following manner:

Graduates of the UCSC Human Resource Management Certificate may be eligible for additional transfer credits through the Credit for Prior Learning (CFPL) program. Learners in the Capella University Master of Science in Organization and Management program are allowed to earn up to 20 quarter credits (five courses) through a combination of transfer credit and Credit for Prior Learning petitions. So, in addition to the credit granted under this transfer agreement, learners a petition for up to three (3) additional courses through the CFPL process.

The Business and Management Department of UCSC Extension offers courses that may meet requirements for M.B.A. program admission. These courses give students the opportunity to fulfill some of the prerequisites necessary to begin an M.B.A. program. If you are applying to a university for an M.B.A., be sure to inquire about requirements and prerequisites.

The following courses may meet some undergraduate prerequisite requirements for pre-M.B.A. programs at the universities listed below and other universities or colleges.

Credit Transfer Agreements
The Business and Management Department has secured transfer agreements with George Washington University and the University of Wisconsin-latteville. These agreements specifically assist students who have achieved a Project and Program Management Certificate and would like to pursue an Online Master of Science degree.

Capella University
Before entering Capella University's Master of Science in Information Technology Program, Project Management and Leadership specialization, the student must complete the UCSC Extension Project and Program Management Certificate with an overall 3.0 grade-point average. Completion of the UCSC Extension Project and Program Management Certificate equates to 12 graduate credits when being admitted to the Capella University Master of Science in Information Technology program, Project Management and Leadership specialization in the following manner:
