BENEFITS TO TEACHING FOR UCSC EXTENSION
Recognition: Through a professional association with UCSC Extension, individuals gain recognition not only within the University, but also within the professional community. This can be a significant asset to one’s career or, in some cases, one’s consulting skills.

Personal Reward: Many instructors enjoy the satisfaction of giving back to their profession through teaching.

Support: University Extension provides and arranges for the facilities, audio-visual aids, class setup, copies of materials, and logistics for each class. Classes are marketed through the Extension catalog and Web site.

Library Use: As a UCSC Extension instructor on our payroll, you are eligible for campus library privileges. Please contract your Extension representative for more details.

Instructor Development Opportunities: UCSC Extension offers courses to instructors to enhance their effectiveness in the classroom on a space available basis. See Training Resources for Instructors section below.


COURSES FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
UCSC Extension offers courses to instructors, on a space-available, case-by-case basis, to enhance your effectiveness in the classroom. The courses range from those covering presentation or communication skills to course design and effective communication with foreign-born audiences.
