The home page directs you to the key locations on the site: our Professional Development and Arts and Humanities courses, information on programs, important information for International Students residing in the U.S. as well as those who would like to study in our English language programs, and our Online Learning courses.
Course Search Use our search page to find courses by program area or area of interest. Refine your search to find classes offered on a certain day, at a specific time and location, and presented by your favorite instructor. You can also search for courses that fulfill accreditation requirements. Or, search by keyword to view all that's available to meet your interests and needs.
My Cart Use the "Add to Cart" link at the bottom of each course description to access the registration form.
Log in / Log out If you are a new or returning student, log in to set up a personalized account, which allows you access to your course records, account information, and a timetable of your current classes. If you are an instructor, log in to access course information, rosters, timetables and grade reports.

If you have been laid off from your job, you may qualify for state-funded training through local Workforce Investment Boards. Leadership Institutes Extension offers the following program to help your career:
- Management Institute of Leadership Excellence (MILE) is a comprehensive leadership-development program specifically engineered for executives, high-potential technical leaders, managers, and senior consultants who serve a technology-oriented clientele.
Master's Degree Program Offered at UCSC Extension's Cupertino campus, students may enroll in UC Santa Cruz' Master's in Computer Engineering program with an emphasis in network engineering which is designed to educate engineers and technical professionals to enter and practice the highly specialized field of network engineering.

Using your new Student ID Number and password will open a portal through which you can update your student profile, access your student records, enroll and a lot more!
Here's how to get your Login and Password:
Students enrolling since November 2001
If you enrolled in an Extension course after November 1, 2001, you should have received two mailings containing this information.
First-time students
If you are enrolling for the first time, this information will be provided during the enrollment process. Your Student ID Number (User Name) will be included on your enrollment confirmation, and your password will be sent to you by e-mail. You must provide an e-mail address during that process.
Past students
If you enrolled in a UCSC Extension before November 1, 2001, your Login-ID can be obtained by contacting our Student Services Department and a password will be e-mailed to you.
Once you log in, you will find directions for how to change your ID# (logon) and password to those that will be easy for you to remember.
Important note: If you do not use the process above (log in every time you visit the site), when you enroll, the system will generate a new student record that will NOT be linked to your current record.
Using our Student Portal, you can access your student record and profile to update your:
Street address
Phone number
E-mail address
Access your academic history
View your student financial records
Find the necessary forms for transfers, transcripts, concurrent enrollment, certificate application, etc.
Sign up to receive e-mail newsletters and program updates
And, your information from your profile will be automatically populated on your enrollment form.

Professional Development
When you click on the Professional Development link in the navigation bar, you'll be taken to a page with two pull-down menus. First, choose a career area from the left-hand pull-down. This will produce a list of programs in the right-hand pull down. Selecting one or more programs will produce a page with a list of courses currently open for enrollment.
Right-hand navigation includes:
- Browse Catalog links to a pop-up window where you can choose an interest area and program. A series of course summaries related to the program will appear in the box as you click "next" or "previous." You will advance your view to another course description or go back to the last description you viewed. Then, click "more information" to bring a complete course description to your main browser window.
- Highlights offers the latest Professional Development news and information.
- Request Information takes you to a form where you can request information related to your specific interests to be sent to you via mail or e-mail.
- Buy Textbooks provides addresses and/or links to local bookstores as well as a link to order your textbooks directly from Amazon.com.
The Arts and Humanities Page

If you are a new student:
Select the course in which you wish to enroll. From the course description, click the "Add to Cart" button below the course section information. Continue shopping if you wish to add more classes.
Once you are ready to start the enrollment transaction, click "Check Out" which will bring you to My Cart. Fill in our secure online registration form and submit it. You will immediately receive a confirmation of enrollment that includes your student number. A password will be e-mailed to you so when you come back to the site, you can access your student records. This is your only receipt. Directions for printing the form are included in the confirmation.
