How do I get a username and password (web account)
NEW STUDENTS If you do not have a student number and password, one will be assigned to you with your first enrollment. Your student number is your user name. You can change your student number to a user name that you can easily remember by coming back to this portal, logging in, and following directions. Please store your user name and password where you can locate it for future logon to the site. Creating a new profile each time you log on creates multiple records and will make it difficult to access your academic history.
How long does it take to receive my grade? Grades are generally processed within a month after the course end date. The grades are updated on your online student record.
Education course grades normally process within three weeks. These instructors are aware of student time constraints
How do I receive my grade? An email will be sent once grades have been submitted. The grade is not official if the instructor verbally tells you or emails the grade. You can view your grades online. We cannot email or fax a grade.
How do I drop a course? Am I eligible for a refund?
Drop Policy A $40 processing fee will be withheld for each course section drop. All requests made by students must be received online or in writing at least seven calendar days before a class begins. If we do not receive the request in that time period, no refund will be granted. However, you may still request to be withdrawn from the course. Only course tuition fees are refundable. Registration and certificate fees are non-refundable. Some UCSC Extension programs require more advanced notice for drops and a larger amount is forfeited when granted.
What are Extension certificates? Certificates were created specifically for career development. A certificate is a university-level program that offers academic credit, but does not lead to a degree. By meeting the academic standards of the University of California, UCSC Extension Certificates are highly valued by employers and prized by the professionals who earn them.
Will I benefit from a certificate? Many certificates are designed for working professionals who already have a degree but want to ensure their skills and knowledge are current. They are also suited to professionals who have work experience in their chosen field but do not have a related degree and individuals who want to transition from one field to another.
When should I enroll? You can declare candidacy at any time. We recommend you do so early in order to keep abreast of course and program developments. Enrolling early will also allow Academic Services staff to better assist you in course scheduling and selection.
You may declare candidacy for a certificate online.
