International students

UCSC Extension's top-quality professional certificate programs can improve your career opportunities and your earning potential. Our courses, held in Santa Clara, California, are taught by Silicon Valley professionals who are leaders in their fields. Most UCSC Extension students are working professionals from Silicon Valley companies, so you'll have opportunities to network in the high-tech community.

UCSC Extension is authorized to issue I-20 forms for initial entry, transfer, reinstatement and change of status applications for international students. After you complete your studies, you can gain work experience in a relevant company by applying for Optional Practical Training (OPT). OPT is available to students who have maintained their student status for one academic year (nine months) and successfully completed a certificate program. With OPT authorization, students can supplement their high-quality education with a year of work experience in Silicon Valley.
