Dear Members of the UCSC Extension OLLI Community:
We are writing to inform you about the difficult situation our Osher Lifelong Learning community now faces. In an attempt to confront the challenges presented by the need for long-term sustainability, it has become evident that we cannot continue the program under the current funding model and structure.
We have, therefore, been reviewing the financial realities and the future needs of our OLLI and exploring several options for the program. Unfortunately, none of the possibilities provide our program with sustainability in the long-run. Therefore, we have decided to end the UCSC Extension OLLI program at the close of the Spring session. We understand that many of you have enjoyed and benefited from participating in the program, and we regret the loss of this program.
In light of this decision, membership fees will be automatically refunded to any UCSC Extension OLLI member who is a current paid member as of June 1, 2008. You should expect to receive a refund check in the next four to six weeks.
We do live in an area that is rich in educational opportunities, and we encourage you to explore one of the other excellent OLLI programs in the Bay Area:

Sincerely,
Alison Galloway, Ph.D.
