Application Procedure for International Students

UCSC International Program Students

To apply to UCSC Extension as a full-time international student:

1. Download the International Student Application Form.

2. Fill out the form and submit it with a credit card or wire transfer payment for the non-refundable application fee of $150. Career Certificate students should include payment for the international student advising fee of $2,000. The student fee is refundable up to seven business days prior to the start of the program, minus a $200 administrative fee.

3. Send, by mail, a financial statement from your bank account or a sponsor's bank account showing that you have sufficient funds to support you during your studies in the United States. You must also include a letter from your bank on bank letterhead stating that you have sufficient funds. The 9-month professional certificate programs require financial resources of at least $25,000. The cost of tuition varies depending on the certificate you choose. Total course fees for a program typically range from $7,500 to $9,000.

Fees

  • Application Fee: $150 (non-refundable) due at the time of application.
  •  Career Certificate Advising Fee: $2,000 due at the time of application. The Advising Fee is refundable if cancelled up to seven calendar days before the session begins. A 10% administrative fee will apply.
  • Optional Express Mail Fee: $75 for immigration documents for overseas students who request express mail.
  • Optional Course Fees: Course fees vary depending on course selection; students must enroll in a minimum of 12 units per term.
