Environmental Health and Safety CoursesEnvironmental safety and health professionals must meet specific requirements to acquire and retain certification. UCSC Extension offers courses in environmental safety and health; hazardous materials; hazardous waste; and occupational safety and health that will solidify your certifications and advance your career.

Our environmental safety and health courses offer hands-on skills as well as high-level management techniques to equip you for success at the highest level. We also regularly offer the HAZWOPER and the mandatory one-day update courses.

Recertification

Many of UCSC Extension´s EH&S courses qualify for credit toward professional recertification.

ABIH: American Board of Industrial Hygiene. The indicated courses qualify for ABIH certification maintenance points. (www.abih.org).

CSP: Board of Certified Safety Professionals. Indicated courses qualify for Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification maintenance points (www.bcsp.org)

CHMM: Most courses in Environmental Safety and Management program qualify for CEUs needed for recertification of Certified Hazardous Materials Managers (www.ihmm.org)

Extension Partners with OSHA Training Center
UCSC Extension is pleased to announce that we are now partnering with the CLPCCD OSHA Training Center to expand OSHA-certified training in Silicon Valley.

New courses include Occupational Safety and Health Standards for General Industry (OSHA 511), OSHA Trainer Course in OSHA Standards for General Industry (OSHA 501) and Update for General Industry Outreach Trainers (OSHA 503).
