Social Media Marketing Fundamentals


The contemporary marketing toolset has expanded dramatically with the mainstreaming of online technologies and social media. This course surveys the technologies and tools driving the shift from traditional push marketing to the push-pull model of customer-engagement marketing. You'll learn about key social media channels (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest) and fundamental online tools and techniques, including market research, ideas and innovation, communities, blogs, wikis, RSS feeds, and podcasts.

Finance for the Business Professional

After earning the Minimum Continuing Legal Credit, you’ll be prepared to:

  • Maintain your status as a practicing attorney in the state of California pursuant to State Bar standards

  • Handle the accounting and finances of your practice

  • Understand the role of marketing and its effect on client acquisition and retention

  • Manage basic human resource functions

Curriculum

Program Format

UCSC Extension’s Minimum Continuing Legal Credit is offered at UC Santa Cruz Silicon Valley Campus, a beautiful facility located on the corner of Scott and Bowers in Santa Clara. Some of our courses are also available online.

Credit Requirements

Total: 25 hours

Timeline: To earn the credit, you must complete the allotted hours every three years

Requirements

  • Members must fulfill at least one-half of their MCLE requirements with activities approved for “participatory” MCLE credit

  • Maximum “self-study” hours: 12.5 hours

Special Requirements

  • Legal Ethics: 4 hours (required)

  • Competence Issues (formerly known as Prevention, Detection and Treatment of Substance Abuse or Mental Illness): 1 hour (required)

  • Recognition and Elimination of Bias in the Legal Profession and Society: 1 hour (required)
